In His Shoes Award:
This award is in honor of the late Walter Washington and continues his legacy. The criteria for this award was developed by his daughter, Shanene.
The individual nominated for this award should be dedicated in the field, have leadership skills, can communicate effectively with all different demographics, they are the type of person that still puts in the work even after they clock out and they are someone who is positive with a balance of professionalism and a sense of humor. If they have a story of how they overcame trying obstacles, they embrace it and apply it in a positive way to serve others.
HMIS Champion Award
An agency or individual that has provided continuous accurate and information rich data into the HMIS system. This individual has worked closely with the HMIS team on feedback, reports, and champions all things data.
Empathy in Action Award
This award is given to an individual who has shown tremendous empathy and caring throughout the year, helping others during difficult times in a way that amplifies kindness and understanding. This individual is probably the first person that comes to mind when you think of someone who can help your clients through sensitive issues free of judgment.
Bridge to Better Health Award
An agency or individual who is creating innovative ways for people to access the care they need for physical and/or mental health. They are working hard in the local community to bridge the gap between health services and those who are in need.
Agent of Change Award
An individual who constantly steps up and works to find innovative ways to aid members of the community often forgotten. Someone who is ingrained in the community and works hands-on with the clients we all serve.
Veteran Service Excellence Award
Agency or Individual who has worked closely with the Veteran community (individuals and Veteran serving agencies) to bring about positive change and to connect Veterans to the services they need and are entitled to. Someone who is a strong advocate on behalf of Veterans in the community and perhaps is a Veteran themselves.
PIT Partner Award
Agency or Individual that stepped up during 2025’s PIT Count and helped coordinate multiple volunteers to ensure the PIT Count’s success. This individual or agency partnered closely with the Lead Agency to identify and reach relevant counted populations.
Shelter Partner Award
An agency that has partnered closely with area shelters to provide vital resources and referrals. An agency that has gone above and beyond to support those residing in shelters as they work on their personal journey and transition to permanent housing.
Housing Partner Award
An agency or individual who has stepped up to identify, provide, and/or advocate for more housing opportunities and/or more available housing in the communities we serve. This agency or individual works actively with area nonprofits that house clients to help improve outcomes.
Workforce Partner Award
An Agency, individual, or area employer who has stepped up to provide opportunities, workforce development, training, and/or jobs to unemployed or underemployed individuals within the CoC system. This agency/individual/employer works closely with agencies across the CoC to provide positive results for clients served.
Gateway to Stability Award
An agency or individual who provides a holistic pathway to self-sufficiency whether economic, personal, housing, health, or all of the above. Providing access, resources, programs, support, and/or referrals in a way that addresses the individuals entire social determinants of health and sets them on a positive path of sustainability.
