Holomua Outreach Volunteer Clean Up

Aloha mai kāua,Please join us for our last 2025 Community Clean Up on Holomua Road. Come prepared with closed-toe shoes as we mālama the stretch from the Hana Hwy intersection up below the bridge toward Old Maui High School — an area that has long struggled with illegal dumping. While the community works hard to manage their own opala, the areas they do not live near continue to collect abandoned items that threaten both safety and the ʻāina.This clean-up is also a critical effort in fire mitigation without removing the community. We will be doing a deeper clean, including removing abandoned vehicles, with residents themselves stepping forward as part of their kuleana to one another. Their participation matters now more than ever, as we continue this work knowing that once the gates go up on Holomua Road, this community will be swept — displaced yet again despite their efforts to keep their home safe and orderly. Meals, drinks, and supplies will be provided. If you have special dietary needs, please bring your own food, as donated meals cannot be customized. Through all of this, we remain committed to supporting this ʻohana until we secure a piece of land where they can finally live in safety, stability, and dignity.Mahalo nui for standing with us — we truly cannot do this without our COMMUNITY.
