Please complete this form if you are interested in volunteering at the upcoming 2026 Haunted Trails event at the Huntley Park District on Saturday, October 24th from 6:00 - 10:30p.
This year's theme is "Legends of Horro," which mirrors famous horror movie characters. Scare Actors will wear masks and costumes. You will be out in the cold weather, please dress accordingly. The Huntley Park District will not be able to provide costumes and masks for all volunteers, so it is highly recommended you bring your own. This year's theme is very specific to certain characters you all have witnessed over the years. After you submit this general interest form, the Park District will reach out asking you aobut which specific characters you fit best.
A Mandatory Volunteer Meeting will take place on Monday, October 5 from 6:00 - 7:00p at the Huntley Park District REC Center. A second meeting might be required prior to the event, meaning you will be committing to up to 3 days of volunteering for this event.
Upon submitting this form, you will need to complete our Volunteer Application, which will be linked on the "Thank You" page and as a part of the email you receive automatically. Following your submission, our Recreation Manager will email you with more details and questions to determine exact roles.
Volunteers are expected to follow these requirements:
- Volunteers must be 14 years or older.
- Adult volunteers (18+) must complete a background check.
- All volunteers must be available for the entire duration of the event, from approximately 5:30 – 10:30p on Saturday, October 24th.
- Everyone who volunteers must be willing to play the role that is assigned to them and adhere to the guidelines of the event.
- All volunteers must complete the Volunteer Application & Waiver.
- All volunteers must attend all Mandatory Volunteer Meetings, unless otherwise communicated.
- Those who are earning volunteer hours through D158, must stay the entire duration of the event in order to receive credit for volunteering.
