Character Reference for IABC Certification Candidate
IABC is an association of those engaged in counseling ministries with a mutual conviction of the sufficiency of the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments for bringing about permanent solutions to the needs and problems of mankind. We accept the Bible as God’s Word to man and believe that its principles address every area of life. We believe that the infiltration of the principles of psychology into the theological base of the evangelical church is a subtle, but grave danger to the confidence that Christians should be placing in the Scriptures themselves. We believe strongly in the need for every person to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as Lord, and therefore unhesitatingly advocate the communication of the truth of the Gospel in every venue, including the counseling setting. IABC is concerned that the certified counselor be a person of godliness, purity, and of strict integrity. The process of certification can only be as good as you make it by careful, candid, and truthful reporting. This form is to be completed by a pastor, colleague, or friend or similarly serving leader (elder, etc.).
