Volunteer English Teacher/ Staff Member (VET/SM)- The VET/SM position combines a three day teaching schedule (includes a combination of weekday and weekend hours) and a two day clerical duty schedule. Ideal volunteers for this position are organized, responsible, articulate, friendly, independent, creative, and possess strong time-management skills. This position requires a 2+ month time commitment. VET/SM persons are responsible for initiating and maintaining communication between students, parents, and local schools, in addition to maintaining communication with all current or incoming volunteers for the ICCVT program. Responsibilities include addressing and answering all applicant and volunteer questions, concerns, and feedback, coordinating monthly meetings/activities for volunteers, and entering volunteer feedback into a working database. Training for this position will be provided (with the expectation that the current VET/SM will serve as a trainer for the incoming VET/SM, meaning that all VET/SM persons will both receive and provide training during the course of their enrollment in the ICCVTT program). Benefits of this position include 1) Thai language lessons and 2) the ability to contribute to not only the development and sustainability of English literacy, but to contribute to the strength and organization of the ICCVTT as a whole, thus ensuring its active role in the community for years to come.
