Your nominations for judges for the 2028 National are an important part of making the 2028 Irish Setter Club of America’s National Specialty Show a success. Nominations may be submitted either online or by requesting a paper form, and must be received by March 31, 2026. Please respond by this deadline and follow these directions closely so that your nominations will be counted.
Procedure:
The Judges Nominating Committee for the 2028 National Specialty Show consists of one Director from each region plus a chairperson. The committee’s sole purpose is to tally and validate the nominations received from ISCA Members who are eligible to vote.
You are being asked to nominate the Conformation, Sweepstakes, and Veteran Sweepstakes judges. The ten (10) judges who receive the most nominations in Conformation, and the five (5) judges each who receive the most for Sweepstakes, and Veteran Sweepstakes will be presented to the ISCA Board in descending order based on the number of nominations each judge has received. The Board will then vote at the May 2026 board meeting on the final panel of judges, including choosing a Junior Showmanship Judge from the panel.
Obedience, Rally and Agility Judges:
Obedience, Rally and Agility judges are chosen by the local club and/or NEC (with Board Approval). Please feel free to contact the 2028 Show Chair or Event Chair (see ISCA Website for their names - Once announced) with any suggestions you have for judge in these venues.
Criteria for National Judges:
Judges from all ISCA regions will be considered in the judges selection process for all events at National events. Judges must be on AKC’s list of Approved Irish Setter Judges (unless doing sweepstakes). No provisional judge of Irish Setters will be eligible for nomination unless he/she has a Sporting Dog background. (Breeder-Judges are encouraged and preferred.) International judges will need AKC approval.
If an individual has already judged our National, he/she is eligible, but must judge the alternate sex of the previous assignment.
Directions for Nominating online:
Nominations will be accepted from each ISCA member whose membership dues have been paid by January 31, 2026. You must include your name as it appears in the membership, your address, your region and email on the form. If you have a family membership, two forms can be submitted, each with appropriate Name. Nominations must be completed by March 31, 2026.
