• Facing Life's Challenges

    A Circle Discussion
  • How do we respond when challenging situations come to us in life?  Martin Seligman says optimists are healthier, happier, and more successful people than pessimists.  And his work demonstrated that optimism is a learnable skill.   Author Brooks believed that we can grow because of life’s challenges.  He suggests that we can deepen happiness and meaning by accepting negative emotions, learning from setbacks, practicing gratitude, and helping others. We will discuss these ideas together and hear from each other to see how each of us might respond in our own lives.

  • The Circle is a place to explore ideas that matter—the ones that shape who we are and how we live. Sitting in a circle ensures every voice is heard equally. We hope by the end of the conversation, each person will have at least one "take-home" - a new idea or action to incorporate into your life.

Afterwards, we continue the conversation over a simple meal, building real connections with people who want to think deeply about issues and hear the thoughts of others. Come join the Circle!
