Competition Description - Painting is a powerful visual storyteller.
Rules and Regulations -
Category - Competition is open for four categories
Category A – Elementary I School (K - 2)
Category A – Elementary II School (3 - 5)
Category B – Middle School (Grade 6 - 8)
Category C – High School (Grade 9-12)
Winners - Each category will have 3 Prizes (First, Second, Third).
Submission Deadline - Midnight of Saturday, January 18, 2025
Theme/Topics 1 - “Shakti - Empowerment of Women” - What does “Shakti” mean to you ? Depict what empowerment, social justice or opportunities look like for women today. What would you like to see in the future ? What has happened in the past ? Pick any of the above as a focal point for your art.
Theme/Topics 2 - “Earth and Oceans ” - What has been the effect on oceans with pollution , plastics and non-organic waste products by humans ? How has it affected the Earth or the Oceans and all that lives in it.
Theme/Topic 3 - “AI Influence on Humans” . Depict what the future looks like with Artificial Intelligence influencing our lives.
We are looking for:
- A message or idea of the theme that is being conveyed
- Skill with the medium appropriate to the age group
- Colors coordinated or contrasted for good impact
- Elements that work together
- The Art Paper will be provided to each contestant.
- All entries must use this paper.
- Art work must be based on the theme mentioned above.
- Contestants can use their supplies such as color pencils, oil pastels, water / acrylic / oil color, brushes, cup, water etc. based on the medium of their preference.
- Participants are not allowed to copy or refer to any other sources including digital media, prints etc. during the competition.
- Participants are also not allowed to seek help/guidance from anyone else during the competition.
- Artwork must be the exclusive original creation of the participant named on the entry form, and may not have been previously published or won any other prize/award.
- By submitting an entry, the entrant represents that he or she has the unrestricted right to submit the participant’s artwork and the artwork does not infringe upon any third party’s proprietary or other rights.
- IAGB will have the unrestricted right to use, alter, publish, display, or transfer to a third party each piece of artwork however it sees fit, without further approval of or payment to the entrant, parent/guardian, or participant. All entries, including artwork, become the exclusive property of “IAGB”.
Competition Rubric - Winners will be judged on the basis of originality, creativity and relevance of artwork to the theme
