This program is designed to assist you in caring for companion animals that have been in your household for 6 months or more. While a member of PFP, you agree not to add or replace your pet population by taking in more animals or allowing animals in your household to breed.
Within 3 months of joining the program, ALL pets in the household MUST be spayed or neutered. We offer reduced-fee spaying and neutering through the IHS Veterinary Medical Center for low-income individuals and families who need assistance. Subsidized spay/neuter pricing is $50 for a dog and $25 for a cat. Micro-chipping and vaccinations, including rabies, are also available for an additional fee through our IHS Veterinary Medical Center.
Proof of need is required and can be documented with any of the following:
- Food Stamps/EBT Card
- Medicaid/Medicare
- SSI
- Social Security
- Proof of low income from your most recent income tax return, payslip, or proof of Unemployment/Unemployment income statement, financial status with the Department of Health & Welfare, any Homeless Shelter, or Food Bank.
There is a 4 PET LIMIT per household. While on the Pet Food Pantry program, you agree not to add to or replace your pet population by taking in more animals or replacing animals that are no longer part of your household.
Guidelines for food distribution (depending on availability) are as follows:
One Small Dog = 8 lbs. per month
One Medium Dog = 12 lbs. per month
One Large Dog = 15 lbs. per month
One Cat = 8 lbs. per month
