1. Assumption of Risk: I understand that working with animals and on sanctuary grounds involves risks, including but not limited to bites, scratches, lifting injuries, slips, falls, and exposure to dust or dander. I voluntarily accept all risks, known and unknown, related to volunteering.
2. Release of Liability: I release and hold harmless Second Hand Sanctuary, its founders, officers, employees, and volunteers from any and all claims for injury, illness, accident, or loss that may occur during my volunteer service, except in cases of gross negligence or intentional misconduct.
3. Medical Treatment: In the event of accident or emergency, I consent to medical treatment deemed necessary and accept responsibility for related costs.
4. Insurance: I acknowledge that Second Hand Sanctuary does not provide health, accident, or medical insurance for volunteers.
5. Safety & Conduct: I agree to follow all rules, training, and safety guidelines. I will treat animals, staff, visitors, and other volunteers with care and respect.
6. Media Release: I grant permission for Second Hand Sanctuary to use photos, video, or audio recordings of me for promotional or educational purposes, without compensation. (If you do NOT consent, please initial here:
7. Minor Volunteers: Volunteers under 18 must have this form signed by a parent or guardian. Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
8. Governing Law: This agreement shall be governed by South Carolina law.
