The Inclusive Sport Champions are ambassadors for the development and support of inclusive practices in sport at UWA. The position shares information and advocates for inclusivity within the UWA community. The role can be held for a 12- or 24-month period and requires the following engagement.
Inclusive Sport Champions are invited to participate in a minimum of 5 hours of Inclusive Sport Champion activities each month:
Which includes
- Bi-monthly meetings with the UWA Sport Inclusion Team: each meeting being approximately 1.5 hours, (9 hours annually),
- Facilitating two or more activations/events per year centred around various days of significance from UWA Sport’s community calendar,
- Supporting the delivery of inclusion initiatives at UWA Sport,
- Facilitating interviews, podcasts and/or stories of relevance for Inclusion in sport,
- Participating as a panel member for UWA Sport interviews,
- Participating in the latest training and development opportunities at UWA/UWA Sport, including inclusion planning and initiatives throughout the year; and
- Representing UWA Sport as an ambassador for inclusion during Nationals, UBL and other elite sporting initiatives.
UWA Students who volunteer on in the Inclusive Sport Champions program will have all relevant hours added to their academic transcript.
