iE's Summer Immersion Application

Minimum requirements: age 14-18, U.S. high school student with valid passport and ability to travel solo. Students whose families host an iE exchange students are eligible for a full scholarship for the immersion program. Complete the application below to indicate your interest in going on the summer immersion program.
Please note: This is a short-term exchange, which is significantly different from the experience of the student you are currently hosting. The American students who typically thrive in this program are those who are more independent, outgoing, and willing to adapt quickly to new routines and cultures. A student who is prone to homesickness, or will take more time to become comfortable in a new environment is not an ideal candidate.

Note: Summer Immersion Program spots are limited, and often fill up by late October. Please submit your application as early as possible to be considered -- once spots are full, we will take applications on a stand-by basis.

Placement
We strive first for a direct exchange between your child and the German or Spanish family of the student you are hosting. If possible, your child will be placed with this family. If you have any concerns about this placement, please let us know.*

Please note that flexibility with your travel dates is imperative. Our European families will be most available in the months of July and August, as school tends to run through the end of June. If your child has summer commitments that cannot be changed, please indicate the dates that DO NOT work for them to be on program here:
