EMAIL POLICY: I understand that I am responsible for checking the email address provided at registration for information related to the SCHOOL’S OUT program. I understand that the contact for SCHOOL’S OUT is Program Coordinator, Meghan Morrongiello: mmorrongiello@sijcc.com.
DISCIPLINE POLICY: I understand that the JCC reserves the right to remove my child from the program, if in the opinion of JCC staff my child’s behavior prohibits his/her safe and successful participation in SCHOOL’S OUT. SCHOOL’S OUT will not tolerate any behavior which is emotionally and/or physically harmful to a child or staff member. Possible actions by the JCC in response to my child’s behavior include, but are not limited to: notifying the parent/guardian, scheduling a meeting with a JCC staff member, loss of certain SCHOOL’S OUT program privileges, suspension, and removal. I understand that in the event that my child is engaging in harmful behavior and I am contacted by SCHOOL’S OUT staff with the directive to pick up my child that I or another guardian must arrive at the Bernikow JCC in a timely manner.
LANGUAGE POLICY: I understand that my child must use appropriate language at SCHOOL’S OUT. I understand that if my child uses inappropriate language on a reoccurring basis despite staff intervention, then he/she may be subject to suspension or removal from SCHOOL’S OUT. I understand that SCHOOL’S OUT will not tolerate the use of any slurs. Should my child use a slur during SCHOOL’S OUT he/she will be issued a warning that should it happen again my child will be immediately removed from all SCHOOL’S OUT programs for the duration of the school year.
PROPERTY: I understand that the JCC is NOT responsible for damaged, lost or stolen property. I understand that my child is not allowed to bring outside toys into the program including but not limited to: trading cards, lego kits and stuffed animals. I understand that should my child bring in toys, JCC staff will instruct them to be put away. I understand that failure to listen to JCC staff instruction will result in the toy(s) being confiscated. I understand that personal electronics such as cell phones, gaming consoles and tablets are not encouraged. If a child brings personal electronics they will only be allowed during scheduled times of the program. I understand that if my child uses his/her electronic devices outside of the scheduled time, JCC staff will instruct it them to be put away. I understand that failure to listen to JCC staff instruction will result in the devices(s) being confiscated.
POOL USE: I understand that the JCC offers scheduled swim time as a part of the SCHOOL’S OUT program, with some exceptions throughout the year. I understand that if in the opinion of the JCC Aquatics Department, lifeguards and/or program staff my child is conducting unsafe behavior on the bus, in the classroom, pool, on the pool deck or in the locker room, he/she may be removed from swim and potentially the SCHOOL’S OUT program. I understand that objectionable behavior includes, but is not limited to: running on the pool deck, refusal to wear JCC-provided swim vests, refusal to remain in the program’s designated swim lane, hitting other participants with pool toys, trying to submerge other participants, and failing to adhere to lifeguard and counselor instructions. I understand that should my child wish to swim without the assistance of a swim vest, he/she must be seven years of age or older and will have to successfully pass a swim test conducted by the JCC life guards. I hereby grant permission for me child to participate in swim. I understand that should I not grant permission, I should not send my child in with swim supplies (bathing suit, towel, goggles, etc.)
CHILD RELEASE: I understand that nobody else other than the parents/guardians listed on my child’s registration form are allowed to pick up my child unless I notify the JCC in advance. I understand that such notifications must be done in writing via email to mmorrongiello@sijcc.com. I understand that my child cannot be released to a minor (person under 18 years of age) or a private car company without a parent/guardian.
ACTIVITIES: I hereby grant permission for my child to use all play equipment and participate in all SCHOOL’S OUT program activities. I am fully aware of all risks inherent in various activities and will not hold the JCC, its instructors, employees, associates, agents, affiliates or any other entity or person associated with the JCC liable for any injury or loss that may occur during the SCHOOL’S OUT session.
MEDIA: I hereby grant permission for my child to be included in photographs or videos for JCC publicity. I release all rights to such photographs and videos.
OUTSIDE FOOD POLICY: I understand that I may neither drop off nor have delivered outside food (ex. Wendy’s, Pizza, Dunkin’ Donuts) to the SCHOOL’S OUT program. I understand that outside food will be turned away by JCC staff. I understand that I may pack lunch and snack for my child and that the JCC will provide snack to be eaten during the program’s designated snack time. I understand that I may have access to the JCC’s in-house caterer on select program days and that ordering instructions will be sent out via email.
SICK CHILD PROCEDURES: I understand that if my child shows signs of illness during the program (ex. fever, vomiting, continuous abdominal pain) and I am contacted by SCHOOL’S OUT staff with the directive to pick up my child that I or another guardian listed on my child’s registration form must arrive at the Bernikow JCC in a timely manner. I understand that while my child awaits pick-up, he/she will be removed from the main group and be provided with a medical face mask to wear.
