Frequently Asked Questions
I am unable to host the weekend of May 15-17. Can I still participate?
Please register as a host and when we contact you let us know you would like to host on an alternate date. We are so glad you’d like to join in the fun and support JFS!
I’d like to host but don’t have the skills or space. Any suggestions?
We encourage you to co-host with a friend or entertain at a restaurant. We’d be happy to connect you with restaurants which have worked with hosts in previous years.
How can I fill my table with people I know?
If you have specific guests who would like to attend your event, we can accommodate their paid registrations the week before registration opens to the community. You might consider mixing old friends and new. That often becomes part of the fun.
I’m new in town and haven’t yet met many people. What if nobody signs up for my meal?
Fear not! If you build it, they will come. Post an interesting dinner menu or a simple brunch and you will have new Ann Arbor friends in no time!
Is there a cost for hosts to participate?
No! Hosts are asked to finance the cost of the meal you serve. After the event, you will be asked to provide an approximate cost to JFS and you will receive a letter thanking you for your in-kind donation.
I'm not interested in hosting but would like to be a guest. How do I sign up?
Hosts and menus will be posted on March 15. Please visit www.jfsannarbor.org/diningwiththefamily/ to make your reservation.
What is the cost to guests?
Guests will each pay $100 to JFS.
