About the Mini-Grant
The Office of Student Leadership and Engagement has created the mini-grant program to encourage faculty and staff, as well as students, to take part in co-curricular programming on campus.  As a supplement to in-class instruction, co-curricular programming allows students the opportunity to experience on a more personal and active level, what they have learned in class. Enabling faculty and staff to design co-curricular programs and events assures event programming with cross discipline appeal, topical relevance, expected educational outcomes and a guaranteed audience.

Applications will be judged on the following evaluation elements:
            Program Design:
Your creativity can be unleashed here! The only conditions we place on your program’s design are:

              - It must be advertised and open to all students on campus.

              - SGA funding support of program will be indicated on all advertising and marketing.

Student Engagement staff will work with you on these elements to assure you meet this requirement.

            Faculty/Staff Involvement:
Partnerships are the key in this category!  We’re looking for examples of faculty support widened by inclusion in curriculum, extra credit being offered for attendance, faculty/staff co-sponsorships, and faculty participation in open group discussions.

            Educational Outcomes:
We’d like to see increased awareness of topical issues or involvement in future activities as a measurement of this element.  As a component of in-class instruction, this element is pretty much a given!

Involving Students in the Planning Process:
While the objective is to build working partnerships, we realize there are some projects between students and staff/faculty that may offer limited opportunities for students to assist in planning.  Therefore, to satisfy this criteria, mandatory class attendance will be considered.

**Grant applicants must attend the event they are funded for and are responsible for hosting/escorting guests.
