Now that you are familiar with our Lifesaving Rules let’s look at some of the other rules, we expect you to follow at all times when visiting our sites.
✓ This is a live facility with heavy machinery in operation – be aware of this risk at all times whilst on site. When entering buildings, designated entrances must be used.
✓ 5-point PPE must be worn at all times whilst on site, this includes gloves, hard hat, safety glasses, high visibility vest or clothing and safety boots.
✓ Pay attention to mandatory PPE signs when walking around site and ensure any other mandatory PPE is worn in designated areas such as hearing protection and dust masks.
✓ Ensure regular radio communication is always maintained with the site when walking around.
✓ Visitors to remain accompanied at all times.
✓ Always use the designated pedestrian walkways and remain in allocated "viewing points" if inside a shed.
✓ Always adhere to the site speed limit.
✓ Make note of where your nearest Assembly Point is on site and if you hear the fire alarm make your way to the assembly point immediately leaving any belongings behind.
✓ Fire Extinguishers and hoses are located around site, if you identify a thermal event, please raise the alarm and where necessary call the emergency services.
✓ Always report accidents. First Aid kits and equipment is located around site and a First Aider willensure you are treated should an injury occur.
✓ Always report Hazards, Incidents and Threats (HIT) and Near Misses. HITS and Near Misses can be reported via our Assure H&S Reporting App and QR codes can be found located around site to submit a report.
✓ Mobile phones are only authorised to be used in designated areas and with permission by theSite Manager.
✓ When walking up and down stairways always maintain three points of contact with the stairsand the handrails.
✓ Watch your footing walking around site paying particular attention to waste and debris on the ground to avoid slips trips and falls.
✓ Always ensure your load is secure when entering site, and before leaving site and, NEVER climb on top of a vehicle or trailer.
✓ Practice good hygiene. Food and drink is not permitted on site and only to be consumedin canteen areas. Ensure hands are washed or sanitised regularly.
✓ Before entering the site let the Site Manager know if you have a pacemaker or ICD fitted. Many of our sites have magnets fitted to plant and equipment. Always report any pre exiting medical conditions.
✓ Individuals displaying aggressive behaviours such as verbal and physical abuse will be asked to leave site immediately.
✓ Please respect our neighbours whilst on our sites and when entering and exiting our sites,avoiding excessive noise such as consistent beeping and shouting.
✓ Be environmentally aware, place all litter in the bins provided and ensure taps are turned offafter use.
✓ Always sign in and out of the site on exit and entry and always follow any additional site-specific safety rules.
Remember – if you are unsure ask! If you see something that doesn’t look quite right report it or stop and challenge!
