Pika Surveys 2026

Thank you for your interest in JHWF's Pika Survey Program! In partnership with WY Game & Fish, JHWF volunteers are helping fill a critical gap in pika monitoring across the region. American pikas are a sensitive indicator species of alpine ecosystem health, and your observations will contribute to population trend data that complements and informs statewide conservation efforts. Volunteers will conduct 30-minute presence surveys at assigned alpine sites between July and September, at a time that works for their schedule.
