Recently, the federal government made numerous funding cuts to several programs and services. While these changes may not always make headlines, they have a big impact on Kansas children and families, making it harder to get needed services and supports.
Kansas Action for Children is asking for your help to make the impact of these cuts clear to our state legislators. By sharing your experiences and stories, you can help lawmakers understand the real impact these funding changes have on the families in their districts.
Examples of stories include:
- A service you have accessed in the past is no longer available or is too expensive
- A clinic or program in your community has closed or limited services
- You are a provider and can no longer provide certain services
- You are a provider and have had to turn individuals away or increase eligibility criteria
Stories may be used in the following ways (with your explicit permission):
- Aggregated with other stories to allow for anonymity and community impact
- On handouts for lawmakers or included in other KAC publications
- To create a video or social media post
- Shared with partners to be used in their publications
Stories collected via this project will solely be used for educational and research purposes.
