  • Camp Kendellhurst 2025 Program Offerings

  • Camp Details:

    Each camp day runs from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Camp drop-off is 8:45-9:00 am. Camps consist of theme-based fun activities with a culminating off-site adventure at the end of every week! *Off-site adventures are subject to change based on availability.

    Note: Camps are available to students who entered Grade 1 as of September 2024. Kendellhurst's Kindergarten program continues July - August, no further registration is required. New families wishing to enrol in our Kindergarten program can do so in 1-month blocks for July and August. Please see Mrs. Rogerson if you require special arrangements. 

     

     

  • Week 1: July 2- 4 Clever Clay Creations 

    This week campers are diving into the world of clay creations, where their creativity takes shape through hands-on sculpture and pottery projects. They’ll learn the basics of working with clay, from molding and shaping to smoothing and detailing. Campers will explore different techniques, such as coil building, slab construction, and wheel throwing, to craft their unique pieces. Whether it’s creating sculptures, bowls or decorative items, the possibilities are endless as they experiment with textures, colours and designs. As they work, campers will develop their fine motor skills and an appreciation for the art of pottery. The camp provides a fun and relaxing environment for campers to express themselves and bring their imaginative ideas to life. By the end-of-the-week, campers will have a collection of one-of-a-kind clay creations to showcase their hard work and artistic growth by taking a trip for an off-site pottery class.*

    Our nature camp offers a thrilling outdoor experience that combines adventure, exploration and fun. Participants will enjoy scenic hikes through lush forests, where they can discover diverse wildlife and plant life while breathing in the fresh, crisp air. For those who enjoy cycling, the camp features exciting bike trails winding through picturesque landscapes, providing both challenge and enjoyment for all skill levels. In addition to hiking and biking, campers will engage in nature-themed games, fostering teamwork, creativity and environmental awareness. These games include scavenger hunts, nature-based challenges and team-building activities designed to connect campers with the environment. Whether it’s riding through the trails or learning about local ecosystems, the camp promises an action-packed week filled with excitement and new friendships. It’s a perfect blend of outdoor adventure and educational fun, making it ideal for nature lovers of all ages. Campers will require their own bike and helmet on Thursday and Friday only.

    SOLD OUT! Week 3: July 14 - 18 Master Chef Jr: Asia Edition

    Asia Edition This week, campers are exploring the vibrant world of Asian cuisine in a hands-on culinary camp. They’ll learn to prepare various dishes from Asian spice to stir-fry, gaining an understanding of the flavors and techniques that make Asian cooking so unique in different regions. Throughout the camp, campers will work together, experimenting with fresh ingredients and mastering traditional cooking methods. They’ll also discover the cultural significance behind the dishes they create. On Friday, the excitement culminates with a Master Chef Challenge to refine skills and prepare a unique culinary masterpiece. With expert guidance, campers will confidently cook and present their dishes, showcasing everything they've learned. It’s a week full of creativity, culture, and of course, delicious food!

    This week, campers will dive into the world of escape rooms by creating their very own puzzle-filled adventures. They’ll work in teams to design challenging riddles, mind-bending puzzles, and clever games, all while building a unique escape room experience. Each group will craft a different theme, using clues and locks to immerse others in their mystery. As they collaborate, campers will practice teamwork, creativity and problem-solving. After designing, the fun will continue with a trip to a professional escape room in Mississauga on Friday. Here, campers will test their skills in a real-world challenge, seeing if they can escape before time runs out! Join the exciting week of this challenging adventure!

    Week 5: July 27 - August 1 3D Printing

    This week, campers are exploring the exciting world 3D printing, where technology and creativity collide. They’ll learn the fundamentals of coding, working with programming languages to create their interactive projects and games. Using their newfound skills, campers will design 3D models, turning their ideas into tangible objects through the magic of 3D printing. They’ll get hands-on experience with design software, learning how to bring digital creations to life by printing prototypes and models. Throughout the session, campers will sharpen their problem-solving skills, creativity, and attention to detail. By the end-of-the-week, they’ll have a deeper understanding of how 3D printing works to revolutionize design and innovation. It’s an exciting opportunity to develop skills that can shape the future, all while having fun with technology!

    Are you ready to dive into the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence (AI)? Campers will explore the basics of coding and AI in a fun and hands-on way! Whether you’re curious about how self-driving cars work or how AI can help make our lives easier, this camp will guide you through the cool world of smart technology. AI is all around us - from the games to the technology we use daily. You’ll get to know the basics of this incredible technology. Learning about AI now gives you the skills to be a future tech leader. So, grab your curiosity and creativity, and let’s explore the world of Artificial Intelligence

    SORRY! SOLD OUT! Week 7: August 11 - 15 Cafe Kendellhurst 

    With a taste for breakfast and brunch delights, campers will seize the opportunity to immerse themselves in various morning cuisines, practising traditional dishes. Learning the art of table presentation and gaining an understanding of ingredients and the process of steps for dishes, campers learn cooking techniques to produce wonderful regional specialties. Creating cookbooks and learning basic phrases will enhance their appreciation for the culinary arts and cultural diversity! The week will end with a trip to Longo’s for their PJs & Pancakes cooking class.*

    SORRY! SOLD OUT! Week 8: August 18 - 22 Griffin's Training Week 

    This week, our Griffins-in-Training are gearing up by participating in an action-packed sports and soccer camp, preparing for future competitions in PSAA tournaments. Campers will hone their skills in kicking, passing, shooting into the net, along with teamwork through a variety of drills and exercises. Each session is designed to improve fitness, coordination and understanding of the game, all while emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship. Campers will have the opportunity to work closely with both Coach and teammates, pushing themselves to reach new levels of performance. The excitement culminates on Friday with a thrilling soccer match at the local rec center, where players will put their training to the test in a friendly but competitive game. It’s the perfect way to wrap up the week, showcasing progress and building camaraderie. By the end-of-camp, campers will feel more prepared and confident as they continue their soccer journey. While we welcome all campers, Griffins-in-Training who would like to attend future tournaments are encouraged to sign-up.

            • The Protection of Confidential Information: Privacy Policy 

              Kendellhurst Academy staff and parents shall be aware of the confidential nature of information in regards to young children. The private information of each child shall be respected at all times inside and outside of school property. This information includes written documents, verbal communications, casual observances, etc. Care shall be taken at all times to ensure that confidential information is kept in the private domain. Please note: throughout the year we photograph and video classroom activities for special events such as graduation, Mother’s Day, school barbeques, etc. Some photographs may appear in our internal school newsletters and e-news mailings to parents at our schools. Videos of special events may also be taped and copies provided to parents of children in the event (i.e. Winter Play). All internal photography/videography is disseminated only through secure channels (i.e. school newsletters, or school Learning Management Systems/SIS) and may not be shared externally without permission. Any transgressions shall be dealt with the appropriate measures. In accordance with the Privacy Act, it is parents' responsibility to obtain authorized consent from all emergency contacts to have personal information kept on file at the School. All personal information submitted by parents is subject to consent and thusly protected and held within the principles of transparency and accountability by Kendellhurst Academy Inc.
