• 2027 Cincinnati Fringe Festival Application

  • Hello Intrepid Fringe Applicant!

We are so glad that you're applying to be a part of the 2027 Cincinnati Fringe Festival.

Before you fill out this lengthy form, please make sure you have read over the 2027 Applicant Handbook, available at cincyfringe.com and on the Cincy Fringe App. Even if you've applied before, you'll want to review these documents to be aware of changes and be fully prepared.

There's a lot to think about here, so please take your time with this process.

Please answer each applicable question to the very best of your ability and with as much information as possible.

Finally, once you have paid the pay-what-you-wish application fee and submitted this application you will receive a copy of your submission as confirmation, exactly as you see it here. And if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to bridget@knowtheatre.com.

  • Application Category

Your project may be considered for multiple categories: Primary Lineup, Special Event, Fringe In Development, or Kids' Fringe. To manage high demand, we limit applicants to one application per category, per application period.
  • I am applying for my project to be considered for the following category or categories:*
  • Are you applying as a Local or Out-of-Town Artist?*
  • NOTE: Locals are defined as living within a 90 minute drive of Cincinnati.

  • Applicant Information

Every application is reviewed by 3 jurors. At least 2 of these jurors share a demographic background with the applicant (gender, race, age, sexual orientation, and disability status). To do this fairly, the Cincy Fringe Producer matches jurors to applicants by demographic background before review begins. The jurors themselves never see this information or any other personal details about the applicant.

  • Past Fringe Credits

  • Have you produced at other Fringe Festivals? Let us know when and where and what show.
  • Tech Elements

  • Remember that the Fringe is all about bare bones theatrical performance and minimalist spectacle.

Keep your technical requirements to the essentials; if your show can't fit within the constraints of a Fringe, we won't be able to accept you. And if you spring big tech needs on us after the fact, we won't be able to accommodate them.

  • Playing space sizes vary from venue to venue, regardless of audience capacity. Based solely on the amount of space your production needs, not other technical requirements, select all dimensions below that could work.*
  • Will you require THEATRICAL LIGHTING for your production?*
  • Please detail your Lighting needs and/or anticipated cues.*
  • Will you require a SOUND SYSTEM for your production?*
  • Will you need any of the following audio inputs?
  • If you checked off any of the above, please let us know how many of each you'll need.
  • Will you be using PROJECTIONS/VIDEO in your production?*
  • Please detail any items that will require on-site storage, including width, height, and length. Please note that storage space is limited.*
  • Availability

We know it can be tough this early on to predict the exact dates and times you'll be available, but we need to know at least how many days overall you intend to be here, along with your Venue Capacity preferences, as those two factors determine your eligibility and what your maximum number of performances would be.
  • PLEASE NOTE:
    The Festival runs 6/4-6/19/27

Primary Lineup shows MUST be available for at least 9 consecutive days within those dates to be eligible for the maximum amount of total performances.

ALL productions must be available for a tech rehearsal between 6/1 and 6/10.

  • As it affects your maximum performance total, please select all Venue Capacity options you would be willing to accept.*
  • Extracurricular

If your time isn't completely consumed by your production, we've got a couple other ways you and your artists can be involved with Fringe! There will be additional opportunities to submit ideas if you're accepted, but for now feel free to give us any details behind a workshop you may want to teach or a way you might want to lend your talents to our Fringe Late Night events.
