RULES: Based on official Chili Cook Off CASI Rules

CHILI COOKED FROM SCRATCH - "Scratch" is defined as starting with raw meat. No marinating is allowed. Commercial chili powder is permissible, but complete commercial chili mixes ("just add meat" mixes that contain premeasured spices) are not permitted.
SANITATION - Cooks are to prepare and cook chili in as sanitary a manner as possible. A new spoon must be used for each taste of chili.
ONE CHILI PER COOK - Each head cook is responsible for preparing one pot of chili that he or she intends to be judged and turning in one judging cup from that pot. No more than one judging sample can be taken from any one pot.
CHILI TURN-IN - Chili will be turned in at the place and time designated at the cooks meeting or as otherwise designated. No late entries will be accepted.
TABLE MONITORS - Each table or set of tables will have a knowledgeable table monitor to instruct judges, control table talk, answer questions to the best of their knowledge, and enforce safety and sanitary rules. Discussion of the chili will not be permitted at tables.
TASTING CHILI - Water and bite-sized snacks (e.g., crackers, cheese, celery, grapes, etc.) must be supplied to judges to allow them to cleanse their palates between tastes of chili.
TIE BREAKING - All final judges' sheets will be used for tabulating results. If ties result, one judging sheet will be chosen at random to break the ties.
Fine chili should look good, smell good, and taste good! Accordingly, each cup of chili is to be judged on five (5) criteria: AROMA - RED COLOR – CONSISTENCY – TASTE - AFTERTASTE
I understand that this is for fun and will be a blind judging to promote a fair and impartial judging. I will ensure the safety of all tasters by being upfront and forthcoming of any possible allergens that could be potentially harmful to others. The event participant agrees to conduct all activities lawfully while upon the Town premises and surrounding areas. The event participant expressly agrees to indemnify and hold harmless, at all times, the Town of Springerville from liability for damage to or caused by its members, employees, agents, representatives, guests, volunteers, vendors, etc., arising out of or connected with the use or occupancy of the designated premises, surrounding areas or any part thereof. I agree to the rules and liability waiver and wish to compete in the 2025 Fall Fest Chili Cook-off
