ABRA Board Members

ABRA has a Board of Directors that are responsible for transacting the general business of the Association, electing officers, adopting and enforcing rules as well as putting on the shows. This is a group of volunteers that spend countless hours at our shows and behind the scenes. A group with assorted viewpoints and opinions that can respectfully discuss issues is ideal. Please nominate anyone that could contribute their time and efforts, including yourself if willing. Those listed served in 2025, but we need additional directors that can actively engage with the organization.

We encourage everyone to get involved, even if they can't commit to serving on the board! Our organization is only as good as it's members and their support group.

ABRA offered morning slack at all shows in 2025 in an effort to provide options to participants. Attendance was low at times, which cost the organization money beyond the pen fee collected in paying the arena workers a minimum. What do you suggest for 2026?*

ABRA offers Open 5D Barrels, Rider Age Class Barrels, Novice Horse Barrels, Open Poles and Youth (13&U) Poles. Some of the classes have limited entries for a few years. Suggestions for 2026?

Our Bayou Classic is our annual Added Money Open Barrel Race that has been a fundraiser for the organization for over 20 years. Traditionally it has been a weekend event with added money spread over the weekend and average awards for the Saturday / Sunday runs. Please provide your feedback:.*

Payout: ABRA uses an Equal Plus payout for the Open 5D, which enables the 4D & 5D winners to win almost the same as the 1D & 2D winners (3D is the same with either format). Should this continue?*
