Dear Lake Vermilion Neighbors and Friends,

We’re reaching out to ask for your support in improving safety on the water in the channel between Metsa Point, the Manbeck island  property, and our home 3061 Black Bay rd.

As many of you know, this is a narrow, high‑traffic area where wakes and boat speeds can create dangerous conditions for boaters, paddlers, and shoreline owners.

 

A few years ago, we requested no‑wake buoys for this section of the lake, but the request was denied. Unfortunately, after the recent tragic boating accident, it’s clear that the time has come to revisit this issue. With the heavy boat traffic in this “alley”—especially during the spring, early summer, and fall fishing seasons—the risks have only increased.

Along with this petition a Water  Surface Use Worksheet must be completed.

“ vermilion has arguably the highest recreational when compared to other lakes in the immediate area”

 

To help address this, we’ve started a petition asking for no‑wake zone buoys to be installed in this area. These buoys would create a safer environment for everyone who uses and enjoys this part of Lake Vermilion.
