About Us:
The Instructional Grant Committee of the PTSA consists of 8 to 10 Shawnee Mission East parents in addition to Mr. Peres. Student representatives of the PTSA are also invited to join our monthly committee meetings. The committee meets once per month beginning in mid-September 2022 to review grant applications. We will notify applicants of the status of their applications as soon as possible following each meeting.
About Instructional Grants:
The purpose of the PTSA Instructional Grant program is to provide funding to teachers, counselors and staff that will enrich the learning experiences of East students. Grants should benefit the largest number of students possible and should carry over to future academic years. Grantees must spend any funds granted through this process in the current academic year. Successful applicants are asked (to the extent possible) to spend their own funds on the requested materials, programs or equipment and then submit a reimbursement form with receipts to the PTSA treasurer. Successful applicants will receive notification, instructions and a reimbursement form from a committee member. We will strive to provide reimbursement within a few business days.
What We Fund:
Examples of prior funded grants include: classroom materials and specialized equipment; online tools and programs; books; specialized training; conference participation; and school-wide or discipline-wide research and development projects.
Eligibility:
Applicants MUST be current members of the East PTSA and grant requests cannot exceed $500. You must submit an application through this online form. We are no longer accepting applications in the PTSA folder in the main office.
