    Dear Parents,

    Thank you for your interest in LAUNCH Junior Academy at MCG.

    LAUNCH Augusta is a nonprofit organization committed to opening doors for students by providing early exposure to healthcare careers, academic support, mentorship, and real-world workforce experiences. Our work is rooted in equity, access, and preparation - ensuring students have the knowledge, confidence, and support needed to pursue meaningful careers in healthcare.

    LAUNCH Junior Academy at MCG is designed for middle school students who are interested in healthcare careers and want to grow in leadership and academic success. Students will spend time on the Medical College of Georgia campus learning directly from current medical students and faculty in a structured, supportive environment.

    Participation in LAUNCH Junior Academy at MCG requires a commitment to two in-person Saturday sessions. Students must be able to attend both dates in full in order to be considered.

    The sessions will take place from 1:00–5:00 PM on:

    • Saturday, September 12
    • Saturday, March 20


    Only a limited number of students will be selected to participate. Because space is limited, submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance.

    Students who are accepted will be expected to arrive on time, participate respectfully, and follow the program dress code. Students must wear khaki pants and closed-toe shoes. A LAUNCH shirt will be provided and must be worn during each session.

    Families are responsible for transportation to and from the program location on the Medical College of Georgia campus.

    The application deadline is August 3. Families will be notified of acceptance decisions by August 17, and accepted students must confirm participation and complete enrollment paperwork by August 30.

    Before beginning the application, please note that you will be asked to upload a recent photo of your student and a copy of their most recent transcript. You may wish to have these documents ready before starting. The application also includes several questions that are intended to be answered from the student’s point of view, so please ensure your child is available to participate while the application is being completed.

  • To be considered for LAUNCH Junior Academy at MCG:

    -          Applicant must be a rising 6th, 7th, or 8th grade student

    -          Applicant must be in good academic standing

    -          Applicant must possess a sincere interest in pursuing a career in healthcare

    -          Applicant must submit a completed application

    -          Applicant must submit a copy of recent transcript

     

    Application must be submitted no later than August 3rd.

    Notification of cohort: Chosen students will be notified by email no later than August 17th.
