LIFE is a youth development initiative of the LaGrange County Community Foundation aimed at encouraging young people to engage in philanthropy and support the well-being of others. The program empowers young people to take an active role in their community and develop leadership skills through charitable activities and community service.
The program consists of high school students from grades 9-12 from all three LaGrange County public high schools and homeschool students. These students act as an advisory committee for youth grant funds at the LaGrange County Community Foundation. LIFE also uses grant funds to foster generosity, support education, and enhance the community for youth in LaGrange County.
LIFE members engage in diverse philanthropic activities, including grant-making, collaborating with community organizations and educating peers about philanthropy. Members meet monthly during the school day from September through May and participate in various program activities for a half-day.
LIFE meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month at the Community Foundation.
