Lakeland Community Theatre Casting Policy
1. All roles, unless otherwise announced, are open.
2. If after open auditions, the director believes that a particular role or roles cannot be satisfactorily cast; additional actors may be contacted for auditions.
3. Being invited to audition either directly or indirectly does not guarantee you a role.
4. Callback auditions are sometimes necessary.
5. Only those people who are called back will be contacted. NOTE: Not being asked to come to a callback audition does NOT mean that you are not cast on the production. Likewise, being asked to attend a callback audition does not mean you will have a role.
6. In the event an actor cannot attend a regular audition, he or she may audition at another time that has been prearranged with the director.
Please note that by indicating your desire for a role you will be expected to accept the part should you be cast. This includes roles for which you may not have specifically auditioned for but have indicated on your audition form you would be willing to accept. We have no problem with actors limiting the roles that they are willing to accept; however, we ask that you give us this information before we begin the audition process.
8. In most cases, a complete cast list will be posted within 4 days after the final callback audition. Only those cast in the production will be called by phone. Those not cast will receive an email notification.
9. Whether auditions are public or private is up to the director. Each person will be given an opportunity to sing read and/or dance as appropriate, unless you have a specific request to the contrary. Please note this information on your audition form.
10. Absence for any schedule conflicts that arise after being cast must be cleared with and approved by the director.
