Check out some of our Frequently Asked Questions before you get started!

How will these in-person production work safely?

All participants in this production will be required to be 13 or older on or before January 6th, 2025. All participants MUST have a COVID-19 vaccine (and be at least 14 days past their final dose by January 6th, 2025). We will ask for proof of vaccination at first rehearsal. This is to ensure a safe environment for all involved. We will be following all CDC and KY guidelines.

Please open our FAQ Page for more details.

Are we discrete or double cast?

Due to the length of the performance run, we hope to double-cast all students in the production.

Double casting is when two people attend rehearsals and learn all the lines and blocking for a role and then alternate performance days. All non-adult roles will be double cast for this production.

Discrete casting means that one actor learns all the lines and blocking (usually without understudies) and performs everyday. Adult roles will be discretely cast.

Where and when does the show perform?

Go, Dog, Go! performs on LCT’s Main Stage March 11-30th. There are six weekend performance days and twelve weekday performance days. Due to double casting, students would only appear in half of the following performance dates.

    The weekend performances are:
    Saturday, March 15th 2:00 & 7:00 pm
Sunday, March 16th at 2 pm
    Sunday, March 23rd at 2pm
    Saturday, March 29th at 2pm
    Sunday, March 30th at 2pm

(Actors are onsite from 90 minutes prior to curtain and 45 minutes post show for public performances)

The weekday performances are: at 10:00am and 11:45am on:
    March 11-14
    March 18-21
    March 25-28

(actors are onsite from 8:30am until 1:15pm for school performances)

I turn 13 after the deadline of January 6th, 2025.  Can I still audition?
Not this time. We encourage performers under 13 to take theatre school classes to learn and grow and get ready for their first audition with us! If your 13th birthday is VERY close to this date, please email Kate to see if we can make arrangements.

What if my child has accessibility needs?

Please let us know on the last page of this form. We will be in touch to ensure your student has what they need to have a successful and fun audition process!

Should I audition even if it's my first time and I might not get a part?

Absolutely! You might not get a part the first time you audition for a show, but at LCT we make auditions as fun and unintimidating as possible. We do a lot of group activities, not so many "solo" activities. This is a great place to have your first audition! And you'll be less nervous for your next audition.

Do I need to prepare anything for my audition?

Nope! All audition materials will be provided to you during the audition. There is nothing you need to prepare in advance of the audition. Please come dressed in something comfortable in case there are movement elements.

What's the best way to get in touch with LCT staff?

The best way is to get in touch is by email.  rsm@lctonstage.org is the main account for questions about this audition process.

  • Collecting Scheduling Conflicts

  • An explanation of this form/calendar:

The calendar below is a list of every day we could choose to rehearse, it is not the official schedule.  We request your conflicts and commitments so we can determine which days will be the best to rehearse with you.  You/your student will not be in rehearsal for every single minute listed.  Central characters attend more than others.

In general, we will rehearse 3-4 weekday evenings and Saturday afternoons.  See the calendar below for every possible rehearsal block you will report conflicts for.

  • Instructions:

If you are Available for the entire listed day/time, leave it blank.

If you have a commitment encompassing the entire listed day/time that cannot be moved or missed, choose Unavailable. Leave the next field blank.

If you could arrive late for the time listed, choose Arrive Late then write in the time you would arrive. (don't forget to account for travel time)

If you would need to depart early for another activity, choose Depart Early and write in the time you would leave our rehearsal.

For the commitments you share, please tell us the Reason.  "Dance" or "Football" or "Vacation" are detailed enough. Then indicate if the commitment is Flexible. For example, a vacation already booked is likely not flexible but a single dance practice could be flexible for a mandatory filming day.

Some commitments are not yet confirmed, or Tentative. Please mark that box to indicate commitments that may or may not happen such as a vacation or sports tournament, etc.

Please note that all tech rehearsals and shows are mandatory and we cannot cast anyone who cannot be there for all tech rehearsals and performances.

  •
  • Release

Please read the following guidelines and give your consent and understanding
  • Participants and their guardians will do their best to communicate schedules and conflicts before the rehearsal calendar is made so LCT can create the best rehearsal schedule possible. Participants are expected to be proactive in their communication and do their best to honor the commitment they make when cast.

Actors in this production will be asked to provide basic costume elements including socks, shoes, undergarments, etc. The costume designer works with you to find affordable options or use items you already own. Actors provide their own corrective make up if needed (blush, mascara, eyeliner).

Participants in this production will follow LCT's "Safe at Work" procedures. These will be covered in detail once actors are cast in the production but include: mandatory face coverings, daily temperature readings upon arrival, and submitting results from COVID tests taken at prescribed times during the process. All participants agree to abide by these procedures.

Cast members who will travel, visit with groups of people outside their immediate family (during spring break or at any other time during the process), or engage in other behaviors that put one at a higher risk of contracting COVID-19 are discouraged from participating in this production.

LCT may use performer's photograph, likeness, and/or voice in any way that would resonable portray LCT programs.

LCT celebrates people of all ages, ethnicities, cultures, gender identities, sexual orientations, and physical and cognative abilities and expects participants to help create an accepting and kind space for all people.

  • I do further certify that I am of full legal capacity to execute the above authorization and release.

  • FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

What if I need to cancel my audition later on?
Reply to your confirmation email to let us know.

What if I don't receive the confirmation email?
Reach out to us at rsm@lctonstage.org to begin troubleshooting.  You should receive an email right after you submit this form.  The email will go to the address from the first page of this form, not all the addresses provided within this form. Our Stage Manager, Kate Tayler, will send an email later on confirming your audition time.

Why didn't you send me an audition packet or conflict calendar?
You already filled out your audition packet inside this form!  We are going digital so you don't have to print as much! We may collect conflicts again at another point in the process.

    Still have a question?
