Join LE&RN on Wednesday, April 22, in Washington, DC for a day of advocacy on Capitol Hill. Together, we will meet with U.S. Senate and House of Representatives offices representing the states of our attendees.
No prior advocacy experience is necessary. Our expert consultants will provide guidance in advance, including how to share your story effectively and how to make clear, actionable requests.
Our Advocacy Priorities
We will meet with members of Congress and their staff to highlight several key priorities that will help advance research, education, and care for people living with lymphatic diseases. These include:
- Strengthening research at the National Institutes of Health to accelerate progress toward treatments and cures;
- Ensuring lymphatic diseases are eligible for significant research funding within the Department of Defense’s Peer-Reviewed Medical Research Program, which focuses on conditions affecting service members and first responders;
- Expanding federal education and awareness efforts at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to help reduce misdiagnosis and improve early detection and care.
