Farm Bureau is an organization of farm and ranch families organized to provide a means by which farmers can work together toward goals upon which they agree. It is an organization for farmers, controlled by farmers, and working for the best interest of all farmers. In order for Farm Bureau to remain a farmers' organization, it is necessary that voting delegate requirements be strictly maintained.
With this concept in mind, the following are the guidelines for delegates to the Women's Caucus and Business Session.
- The Women's delegates must meet the same delegate eligibility requirements set for your delegates to the General Session. They should meet the Active Member membership classification requirement.
- Only parishes with organized Women's Committees, approved by the parish boards of directors, will be eligible to vote in the Women's Caucus and Business Session.
- A Letter of Certification and Voting Delegate List from the parish Farm Bureau stating that the parish's Women's Committee has been officially organized and approved by the parish board of directors must be submitted to the State Office prior to the convention.
- In order to vote, a list of Women's voting delegates must be sent to the State Office by MAY 1. Unregistered Women's delegates will not be eligible to vote.
- The number of Women's voting delegates from the eligible parishes will be the same as the number of voting delegates the parish sends to the General Session.
I feel sure each of you understands that the purpose is to preserve the initial governing structure under which the Farm Bureau has traditionally operated. The enclosed form should be completed and returned to the State Office by May 1 in order to satisfy aforementioned requirements.
I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter.
