Farm Bureau is an organization of farm and ranch families organized to provide a means by which farmers can work together toward goals upon which they agree. It is an organization for farmers, controlled by farmers, and working for the best interest of all farmers. In order for Farm Bureau to remain a farmers' organization, it is necessary that voting delegate requirements be strictly maintained.
- The YF&R delegates must meet the same delegate eligibility requirements set for your delegates to the General Session. They should meet the Active Member membership classification requirement.
- Only parishes with organized YF&R Committees, approved by the parish boards of directors, will be eligible to vote in the YF&R Lunch/Business Session.
- To be recognized as an organized YF&R Committee, a Letter of Certification from the parish Farm Bureau stating that the parish's YF&R Committee has been officially organized and approved by the parish board of directors must be submitted to the State Office by MAY 1st.
I feel sure each of you understands that the purpose is to preserve the initial governing structure under which the Farm Bureau has traditionally operated. The form should be completed and returned to the State Office to satisfy the Letter of Certification requirement.
