Mississippi River Institute Spring 2026 Workshop Registration Location: Quad Cities (East Moline, IL)

Thank you for your interest in joining Living Lands & Waters in our newest Floating Classroom - the Mississippi River Institute (MRI)! Please enter your information below to register for an upcoming St. Paul Workforce Development Workshop. You will receive a confirmation email from Rachel after submission. Before you sign up for the workshop, please review the following:
- This is a Workforce Development Workshop promoting different river-related careers (barge industry, conservation, and more!)
- Once you sign up for a date that works for your schedule, Rachel will send you a confirmation email, including details on parking, pre-workshop material, and guest speaker selections.
- All participants (students and adults) must complete a waiver before your workshop date. Minors will need a parent/guardian's signature.
- The river is ultimately the boss! To ensure safety is our #1 focus, please know that workshops may be postponed or canceled due to hazardous water levels.
Tentative Schedule For the Day (schedule is subject to change):

9-9:15am: Arrive! Welcome + Safety Overview

9:15-10:30am: Workshop overview/introduction, barge tour, barge theme scavenger hunt (related to careers and info of river focused day)

10:30-11:30 AM: Guest Speaker #1

11:30-12 PM: Lunch (bring your own bagged lunch) + Career Video, narrated by Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs + Somebody's Gotta Do It

12-1 PM: Guest Speaker #2

1-1:45 PM: River-related activity (various options depending on your class and what may be available that day with weather and such)

1:45-2 PM: Workshop debrief, student's feedback submission, departure
