ABOUT Latino Civic Alliance VOTES

It is the state's leading 501(c) (4) non-profit, non-partisan organization that maximizes full Latino participation in the American political process, from voting to public service.

Founded in 2024, Latino Civic Alliance VOTES believes its mission is to develop, lead, and integrate strategies that include increasing the effectiveness of policymakers, mobilizing the Latino community to engage in voting and creating policies on local and state levels, and promoting policies that advance Latino political engagement.

Latino Civic Alliance VOTES provides city, county and state leadership on key issues that affect Latino participation in our political process, including economic development, labor/workforce development initiatives, small businesses thriving, healthcare, education access, voting rights, election reform, the appointment and election of qualified Latinos to top executive, legislative and judicial positions. 1. Why are you running for office, and what are your top three priorities—particularly as they relate to Latino communities and underserved populations?
2. Can you share specific policies or legislative efforts you've led or supported that positively impacted Latino communities, including small business growth, education equity, or workforce development?
3. Workforce: There are labor shortages across various industries. Our sister organization Latino Civic Alliance has a workforce development program that is recruiting workers for various sectors (aerospace, manufacturing, construction, education and healthcare). LCA and other workforce programs require sustainable funding to continue their operations, protect these industries and jobs. How do you plan to ensure that sustainable funding and focus is prioritized?
4. Small Business: What strategies will you champion to support small businesses with fewer than 20 employees, especially those owned by Latinos and people of color, in accessing grants, loans, and technical assistance?
5. Gun Violence: It is critical to manage behavioral health and youth violence prevention program focused on preventing gun violence; gang involvement and incarceration among Latino youth. How do you plan to address public safety—both in terms of realistic solutions, providing funding, and supporting reentry programs for justice-involved individuals and community-led violence prevention strategies?
6. Education: Latino students continue to face disproportionate suspension rates and barriers to academic success. How will you hold school districts accountable while ensuring equity in funding, teacher recruitment, and student outcomes? Do you support public investment in after-school programs, tutoring, and violence prevention efforts in schools? If so, how would you prioritize and fund them?
7. Housing A: What is your plan to address affordable housing, particularly for seniors, low-income families, and historically underserved communities?
8. Workforce Housing B: Define your view on workforce housing and explain its role in the community and your experience working with individuals and varying families.
