1. Drug & Alcohol Policy: Smoking is not permitted anywhere on campus, regardless of age. LJC maintains a zero tolerance policy for tobacco, alcohol consumption, marijuana and other illegal substances. Violation of this policy will result in immediate dismissal and forfeiture of tuition.
2. Violence and Harassment: LJC also has a zero tolerance policy against physical violence and harassment. Students behaving in any way deemed detrimental to the running of LJC will be expelled with absolutely no refund of tuition.
3. Check-In: All under 18 residential students must check-in each night at the dorms at 10:00pm (with lights out and quiet at 11:00pm). Gunnery School faculty and their families live in the dorms; please show them respect. Connecticut state law
mandates that all students under 18 must be in their dorm past 10PM, regardless of parental consent.
4. Dorms: No males are permitted in female dorms; No females are permitted in the male dorms at any time.
5. Residential Assistants: The RAs are responsible for everyone’s well-being in the dorms. Please respect their requests.
6. Be On Time: Morning check-in is at 8:45AM, for both day and residential students. Concert check-in is 7:00PM and dorm check-in is at 10:00PM. Repeated lateness may result in expulsion without refund of tuition.
7. Concert Attendance: Attendance at evening activities is mandatory for all residential students, highly recommended for day students, and parents are welcome to attend. All concerts are open to the public.
8. Driving Policy: Any residential student under 18 who brings their car to campus must turn in their keys upon arrival. All students under 18 who drive daily to the campus must leave their keys with staff each morning. No student under 18 is permitted to ride with any other student at any time without express written permission by both parents.
9. Medications: All medications must be checked in and handed over at the start of Camp and will be administered by the program’s medical provider. This includes all over the counter medications. All prescription medication must be in the original bottle, with current label and correct dose ordered by physician with accompanying authorization form (signed by doctor).
10. Leaving Campus: Residential students under the age of 18 are not permitted to leave the campus for any reason unless accompanied by a member of the LJC staff or in case of emergency.
11. Photo/Video Release and Consent: We will take many photographs and videos throughout the course of the summer. We would like to be able to use these in our brochures and advertising. By signing this agreement you hereby agree to release all photographs to The Litchfield Jazz Camp without compensation, and understand that The Litchfield Jazz Camp reserves all rights to reproduction of said photograph.
12. Parental Permission: Students under the age of 18 are not allowed to leave campus without a signed parental permission form on file. If students leave campus without this form on file, and/or unsupervised by an approved LJC staff member, the student will be expelled without refund of tuition. By signing this form as the legal guardian/parent of the student specified you give permission for them to join students and staff of the Litchfield Jazz Camp on trips off campus under the supervision of a staff member of Litchfield Jazz Camp. If necessary, LJC will provide buses or authorized vehicles.
13. Incidental Fees: Parents will be charged the following fees if applicable. lost key $75, room cleaning fee $75 (applies if room is left in unsatisfactory condition).
If for any reason these rules and regulations are not complied with, Litchfield Performing Arts/Litchfield Jazz Camp reserves the right to ask the student to leave with no refund of tuition.
