  • SCHEDULE YOUR ACTIVITY

    AQUA YOGA - 8AM

  • FOREST BATHING HIKE - 10AM

  • YOGA CLASS (ALL LEVELS) - 11:30AM

  • Aqua Yoga

Experience Aqua Yoga at The Springs Resort & Spa- a thermal, aquatic, low impact experience, which utilizes modified movements and principles of yoga to accommodate people of all fitness levels.

The high content of sodium, equivalent levels equal to the salinity in sea water, allow you to hold positions and enjoy deeper stretches.

It is also an ideal way for people with joint pain to improve strength, flexibility and range of motion.

Add to that the natural warm temperatures of The Spring’s geothermal mineral water and you are receiving benefits similar to hot yoga, but with less discomfort and possibility of overstretching.  Meanwhile your body is absorbing healing minerals such as boron and sulfate which are good for boosting brain activity, building muscle mass, strengthening bones, ridding the body of toxins, and being anti-inflammatories, which are beneficial for joints and vertebral discs.

The buoyancy of water makes typical challenging poses like Warrior III easy to keep your leg up (because it floats), freeing you to focus on other things, like the alignment of your hips.  And just think back to when you were kids in a pool to imagine how easy a head stand is under water!

A wide variety of people can benefit from aqua yoga, including those with arthritis, hip and or knee replacements, fibromyalgia, anxiety, pre-natal, post-natal, those who are just beginning their yoga practice as well as those who already have a regular practice.

Stretch yourself to new limits and experience Aqua Yoga with us.

    Rejuvenate – Renew – Relax.

  • Forest Bathing Hike

Immerse in nature and let the forest help you find a sense of renewal.  Our Forest Bathing Hike is a wellness therapy that helps combat the “nature deficit disorder” that so many urban dwellers experience.   Take time to breathe deep and benefit from the woodland’s bounty while deepening your appreciation of the earth we all share.

Explore the forest on Reservoir Hill, on the West side of the resort just steps away from your room, while taking in the atmosphere with all your senses.  Look for hawks, gray squirrels, chipmunks and more as you feel the peaceful breeze blowing throw the pines and oak leaves.  Inhale and let the natural aroma of the San Juan Forest fill your lungs and release stress from the inside out.

A study of the Japanese tradition of forest bathing – called  shinrin-yoku--- found that calm excursions into the forest actually reduce stress hormone production, improve feelings of happiness and free up creativity, as well as lower heart rate and blood pressure, boost the immune system and accelerate recovery from illness.

Science has also found that trees give off essential oils called “phytoncides” to help protect their surroundings – including you -- from harmful insects, germs and viruses.  What a gift!

Please note: Hikes may catered to meet the needs of each specific group.
