• January Retreat 2023 - booking form

Fear, Hope, Possibility, and this strange thing we call our World
  • Thank for your interest in attending this year's January retreat.

It is open to anyone - total beginners to experienced meditators. All are welcome. You can participate in this retreat while continuing your daily work and family life.

The retreat begins on Sunday 8th January and finishes on the evening of Sunday 5th February 2023.

  •  - -
  • Format: 00000 000000.
  • Guidelines + practicalities

  • The retreat is informal, and relaxed, while providing you with a thorough introduction to authentic meditation approaches and to related ideas and principles.

What to expect in terms of your time:

You can do this at your own pacing, and in a way that works for your schedule. I will give plenty of guidance about how best to integrate the elements of the retreat into your life. The key thing at this point is that you have a clear intention and make some sort of commitment (to you, not to me!) that you will do what you can to find pockets of time and space during January, to allow you to connect with the retreat. The internal commitment is more important than exactly how much time you are able to spend linking into the retreat.

Group calls are Sunday and Wednesday evenings around 19.45 - 21.00 (UK). Apart from a call on Thursday Feb 2nd (instead of Wednesday Feb 1st)

    General expectations re time:

People have engaged valuably with this retreat in very different ways and with very different time pressures and commitments. In general the MINIMUM time you will need to connect would be:

    • 10 minutes each day to read and reflect on the daily blog reflection

    • 10 minutes each day to practice the basic meditation

    • Some time during the week to listen back to recordings of calls, if you can't join them live. Calls are 75 minutes, but some of that we are meditating so you don't need to listen back to those bits.

That's a minimum, and of course if you can do more that is great and we can support that too. Many people for example try to meditate at the start and end of their day for 10+ minutes during the retreat.

     ***

To help the group and process as a whole, let's agree to some simple principles.

    You agree:

    • To respect the confidentiality agreement we make together with other participants on the retreat.
    • To take responsibility for any and all actions that you may put in place, and emotions and feelings that may arise, as a result of the retreat.
    • To let me know if there are things I can do during the retreat that will help you connect or feel supported.

    I agree:

    • To keep confidentiality about anything and everything discussed in our retreat.
    • To do my best to guide and structure the retreat so it is enjoyable, interesting, valuable and worthwhile.
    • To do the stuff I've said I will do (blogs, calls, etc).

    Refunds:

    • The deposit for the retreat is non-refundable. Signing up reflects your intention to engage with the retreat as best you can in your specific situation.

    End of Retreat Donation:

    • At the end of the retreat I will invite donations. These are totally optional and are a traditional way of expressing appreciation of and support for the experience and teaching in a retreat.
