Queensland Mental Health Week 2026.

Mental health and wellbeing can look different to each of us. This community event invites people across Greater Springfield and surrounding areas to share their perspective through a single photo and a short reflection.

Hosted by Her Alliance in partnership with Kaleidoscope Counselling, the competition brings together different perspectives from across our community as part of Queensland Mental Health Week 2026.

What does mental health look like to you?

We are not looking for the best photographer or the perfect photo. This event is about what this question means to you, bringing people across Greater Springfield together and making space for the many ways mental health is experienced, understood and talked about.

To enter, simply submit:
- One photograph
- A short title
- 1 sentence telling us what the photograph represents to you
- Entry is free
Open to adults and young people (with consent) of all genders and backgrounds from Greater Springfield and surrounding communities.

Entrants under 18 will require consent from a parent or legal guardian.

Your Photograph Could Win!
Every eligible entry will automatically be considered for the awards that apply to it:

- Her Alliance Award

Community members will be invited to view the exhibition and vote for the photographs that resonate with them during Queensland Mental Health Week.

KEY DATES

Entries open: 8 September 2026
Entries close: 28 September 2026
Queensland Mental Health Week: 3–11 October 2026
Community voting closes: 11 October 2026

Photos will be displayed at the YMCA Springfield Central Community Centre as part of the community event during Queensland Mental Health Week.

Before you start
You will need your photograph ready to upload, along with the title, and sentence also some basic contact information.

If another identifiable person appears in your photograph, please make sure you have their permission to submit it.

If they are under 18, permission from their parent or legal guardian is required.

The next sections will take you through the entry conditions, permissions and your submission.

Before You Enter
We want to keep entering simple. Before you submit your photograph, please take a moment to read the important information below.

Who can enter
Entry is free and open to adults and young people from Greater Springfield and surrounding communities.
- One photograph may be submitted per entrant.
- Adult: 18 years and over.
- Youth: under 18 years.
  Entrants under 18 require consent from a parent or legal guardian.
Your photograph
Your photograph should be your own work.

You retain copyright in your photograph.

By entering, you give Her Alliance and Kaleidoscope Counselling permission to print and publicly display it as part of the display and to use it for reasonable promotion and documentation of the event, as explained in the Entry Terms & Conditions.

Because this is a community display open to the public, entries must be suitable for display in a public setting. Photographs do not need to present mental health positively, but graphic, explicit, discriminatory or otherwise unsafe material will not be displayed.

People's Choice — Adult
The adult photograph receiving the highest overall community vote.

People's Choice — Youth
The youth photograph receiving the highest overall community vote.

More Than Meets the Eye
For the photograph that invites us to look beyond what is immediately visible and consider a deeper story or meaning.

What You Don't See
For the photograph that captures something about mental health or wellbeing that can exist beneath the surface or go unnoticed.

Through My Eyes
For the photograph that gives us a distinctive personal perspective on mental health, wellbeing or the world around us.

The Unexpected
For the photograph that challenges expectations or makes us think differently about what mental health can look like.

Community voting will take place during the exhibition. An entry may receive more than one award.
