Eligibility: This call is open to all 2-D, 3-D visual artists and also poets, writers
Procedure:
Artists will enter up to 3 images of their work into this Jotform.
Writers will enter their names and contact information into another Jotform.
When the images get juried, they will be posted online in our 3D Gallery. The writers, on a first come, first served basis, will choose an image to write about, (within a 4 week period). Writers will send their work as a Word Doc or PDF and as an MP3 voice recording, (Voice Memo) which we will embed in a QR code. Both will hang next to the artwork they have chosen so the words can be read and heard.
Visual Artwork Size Requirements:
Wall hanging: no larger than 60" height x 48" width x 8" depth
3D works: a small number (due to space limitations) of 3-D works (with artists-supplied pedestals) may be accepted
Artworks exhibited at the MAC and/or HPAA in the last two years are not eligible.
Framing Guidelines: Ready to hang. All work must be properly framed and wired.
The screw eyes with wire should be placed as close to the top of the frame as possible, at least within the top 1/8 to 1/4 section, (NOT 1/3) from the top of the frame.
The wire and 1 1/2" hanging hook must not extend above the top of the piece when hung. Take excess slack out of wire if needed.
No sawtooth hangers.
Art without frames must not have side staples.
Artists must provide their own pedestal for 3D works which must be secure to the base.
All work will be juried, using the jpegs submitted.
Image Upload Guidelines: The most important aspect of the virtual 3D gallery is that the artwork is ONLY displayed by the jpgs submitted so the quality should be the best it can be. It is understood that the size of the work might necessitate seeing a bit of the background in the jpg. The curator may digitally remove this background for the online presentation.
1. Save entries as a jpeg at 1500 pixels on the longest side at 72 DPI.
2. Name your jpeg entries: First Last Name_ Title.jpg
