Educator Advisory Team
Thank you for your interest in becoming part of the Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom (MAITC) Educator Advisory Team. MAITC Educator Advisory Team members will work closely with MAITC staff in the development and delivery of classroom resources and professional development programs for K-12 teachers.
Benefits
- $100 stipend for each quarterly meeting ($400 per year, $1200 over three year term)
- Funds to cover travel expenses
- Complimentary registration for one 2024 MAITC Summer Teacher Tour
- Funding to host an MAITC workshop in your district/region
- Opportunity to engage with other educators
- Provide input and insight on current and future MAITC resources
Committment
- Meet quarterly in an advisory capacity with MAITC Team
- Summer- one full day in-person
- School year- three virtual meetings, our hour each with about 1 hour of prework
- Deliver a hands-on professional development session to peers using MAITC resources
- Provide feedback and insight on MAITC resource (Lessons, AgMags, Teacher Tours, virtual events) development
- Serve a three year term
Eligibility
To be considered for the MAITC Educator Advisory Team, a teacher must:
- Hold a current MN teaching license
- Have participated in at least one MAITC professional development opportunity (any workshop, teacher tour, or webinar led by MAITC)
- Be a current classroom teacher
Selection
All K-12 educators are encouraged to apply.
Priority consideration will be given to the following:
- Grade Levels: K, 1, 7, 8, 11, 12 grade educators
- Geographic Areas: Southwest, Northeast, and Central Minnesota.
