The MARTYS - 2026 Artistic Award Nominations

The Mississauga Arts Awards (The MARTYS) are the Mississauga Arts Council (MAC)’s annual celebration recognizing outstanding individual and organizational contributions to the arts and cultural activity in Mississauga. Each year we acknowledge honourees whose work helps transform and advance artistic communities through Artistic Excellence and Community Arts Awards.

This form is designated for nominations for the Artistic Excellence Awards for both Established and Emerging artists in the following categories:
- Dance
- Film/Video Arts
- Literary Arts
- Music - Instrumental
- Music - Solo Vocalist
- Theatre Arts
- Music - Group
- Visual Arts - Multimedia Arts
- Visual Arts - Traditional Forms
The nomination forms for Community Arts Awards and Festival of the Year & Community Group/Collective of the Year can be found at: macarts.ca/martys

Artists may only be nominated in one (1) artistic category as such, nominees can only submit to one (1) artistic category. Please ensure submission materials reflect the category of the nomination.

Deadline for submissions: Monday, March 9, 2026, at 5:00 PM EDT. NO LATE OR INCOMPLETE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Work samples should demonstrate the quality of your work, and speak to your artistic qualifications specific to your chosen artistic award category.

Please submit a minimum of 3 and maximum of 5 work samples total. You may submit links to works online, upload documents or submit a combination of both. The jury will not review additional work samples.

*For Literary Arts, please limit each written work sample to no more than 10 pages. For Film/Video Arts, please include excerpts of films (not full-length clips).

Inaccessible documents will not be considered by the jury. If you are submitting links to items in a google drive/dropbox etc., please ensure that permissions are set so that the works are visible. If a video or document is password protected, please include the password when you submit your links.
