  • MACabaret 2022 Expression of Interest Online Form

  • Welcome to the 2022 MACabaret Expression of Interest. We invite you to fill out this form to register your interest in presenting at one or all three of the planned shows for MACabaret 2022.

    Due to popular demand and feedback from MACabaret 2021, Moonah Arts Centre will present the Adult Only Show on both a Friday and Saturday night, in addition to our Family Matinee on the Saturday. Artists are welcome to apply to present at both Family and Adult Only shows.

    Family Matinee: 

    2pm-3pm on Saturday 19 November 2022

    Adult Only Show: 

    8pm-10pm on Friday 18 and Saturday 19 November 2022 (15+)

    Both shows have a variety show format, with a range of acts scheduled in each.

    NOTE : Acts are to be 2-3 minute mini -  10-15 minutes max

    Please give as much detail as possible regarding your act - including ideal performance length, technical requirements, audience alerts (Warning and disclaimers) etc.

    SELECTION PROCESS

    The MACabaret selection process can be competitive, so we ask that you share any and all information you feel will make your application stand out from the crowd, such as:

    • Have you performed this routine before?
    • If so, when and how regularly?
    • Will you be creating someting unique for the MACabaret?
    • Is your performance innovative, unique and exciting? Tell us more.
    • Do you have an established following?
    • How would audiences be familiar with your act?
    • How would you help us promote this event, and your participation in it if selected?

    All acts chosen will be required to sign an Artists Agreement promptly and provide technical specifications and publicity material.

  • Expressions of Interest close at 5pm, Monday 8 August 2022

  • We welcome EOIs from all artists, characters, comedians, dancers, circus performers, puppeteers, poets or cabaret/burlesque acts. We will also be looking for a Master of Ceremony for both the Adult Only show and Family Matinee. 

    MAC highly encourages artist from First Nation, CALD, LGBTQIA+ and Disability communites to apply. 

    PLEASE NOTE BEFORE BEGINNING YOUR APPLICATION:

    • This online form must be completed in one session.
    • You will be able to save a PDF version of your EOI after submitting it.
    • All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their Expression of Interest by Friday 26 August 2022.

    Time to click the submit button below. Please note, expressing your interest does not guarantee a place in the program. All applications are subject to availability of spaces and will be reviewed by a panel to determine their suitability for presentation at MAC.
  • Payment

    Successful artists will be offered a guaranteed Artist fee and a split of the box office takings. The fee will be determined on how many times over the shows you propose to perform, and being committed to attending the tech and dress run on Thursday 17 November.

    Glenorchy City Council collects personal information to carry out its operations as a Tasmanian Local Government. This personal information may be used for other purposes permitted by law. The information may be shared with contractors and agents of the Council for this purpose, law enforcement agencies, courts and other organisations.
