In addition to being the primary educators in the faith, parents by their enrollment into the Faith Formation agree to support the process in the following ways:
Domestic Church: It is important to recognize that the cathecists assist the domestic church (your household) in training the children in the faith; they cannot replace you, nor are the At-Church sessions sufficient to fully pass on the faith to the children. Please walk with your child every step of the way and be sure to share the beauty of the faith with them on a daily basis.
In-Home Meetings: The Pathways Foundation Suite curriculums require that the domestic church continue faith conversations inside the home with In-Home meetings. Please follow along the class schedules and plan your weeks to include an In-Home meeting between At-Church sessions.
Parent Attendance: A parent or guardian MUST attend the parent session every time the child is in a children’s session. This is not a drop off catechesis program. Furthermore, since building community is an important aspect of the Family Faith Formation Program it is best if the same person or persons can be present for the sessions.
Safe Environment Certified: If not already safe environment certified, parents agree to ensure that one adult in the family will become safe environment certified by the Archdiocese of Denver within 6 months of enrollment. This will allow families to participate in the volunteer opportunities. You can find Safe Environment classes here: VIRTUS® Online
Attendance: Attendance is important for all families as it provides consistency and prioritizes the faith over worldly things. For children in Sacramental Preparation, absences may result in a delay of receiving sacraments. In addition, all in-home & at-church meetings and retreats are mandatory. Please contact a department leader when your child misses a class for the make-up.
