  • State Officer Requirements

    • Attendance of 75% or better at local chapter meetings and activities (every year)
    • A vote is taken and recorded in the minutes of the candidate’s local chapter to support the student's application for state office.
    • GPA of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale while a SkillsUSA member. 
    • Must have competed in a Leadership or Professional Skills competition at the State Leadership & Skills Championships or earned the Statesman Award at the Mid-America Conference to be eligible to run for State Officer Team.
  • Mandatory Events (Dates Subject to Change):

    • April 24-26, 2026 (alt. May 1-3) - Intro Meeting, team-building activities, leadership training, DISC, and Officer positions finalized.
    • May 26-29, 2026 - State Officer Leadership Academy (SOLA) – Camp Carol Joy Holling, Ashland
    • May 29-June 7, 2026 - ^^National Leadership and Skills Conference (NLSC), Atlanta, GA
      • Potential Officer Leverage Training May 29-June 1, 2026.
    • ^July TBD, 2026 - ^^Advisor Training - TBD.
    • ^July 15-16, 2025 – State Officer Planning for Fall Leadership Conference – NDE-OB
    • ^Monthly and as-needed Zoom meetings will be held in the evenings starting in August.
    • ^ October 6-9, 2026 – ^^SkillsUSA Fall Leadership Conferences 1 and 2 (FLC/Districts) – TBD, - (3.5-4 days of school).
    • ^ October 10, 2026 – ^^SkillsUSA Fall Leadership Conferences 3 and 4 (FLC/Districts) – TBD - (3.5-4 days of school).
    • ^ October 24 - 28, 2026, or October 25 - 29 – Mid-America Leadership Conference (Mid-Am) – TBD, - (3 days of school).
    • November 24, 2025 – ^^Commissioner’s Recognition – Lincoln - State Capitol Rotunda (Recognition of National Champions from June 2026)
    • ^ December 9, 2026 – Middle School SkillsUSA East Conference – Omaha (Kroc Center) (1.5-2 days of school).
    • ^ January 31- February 2, 2027 (or Feb. 7-9) - Legislative Days & SLSC Planning - (2 days of school).
    • ^ February 10, 2027 (or Feb. 3) – Middle School SkillsUSA West Conference – Grand Island - (1.5-2 days of school).
    • April 6 - 10, 2027 – SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Championship (SLSC) – Grand Island (3.5-4 days of school).
