    Winter 2023 Registration

  • NWMSA has some excellent opportunities for those players who want to keep on top of their game and learn from some amazing instructors. We have clinics available for pitching, catching, and hitting.

  • SPOTS

    • Spots are limited and available on a First Come First Served basis.
    • Hitting and Pitching have separate Beginner and Advanced sessions. Choose whichever matches your skill level.
    • If the other session level works better for you though, that's ok. Just let the instructor know.

  • FEES

    The fee continues to be subsidized by NWMSA for our returning and new athletes.

    NWMSA Members: $15 per session
    Non-Members: $25 per session

      MYRIAH PURSS - Pitching

        

      Growing up in New West, softball has always been a big part of my life. I have played for over 20 years, and started pitching as soon as I could. I attended the same pitching clinics when I was learning how to pitch and have been so fortunate to have been running the winter clinics for the past 10+ years.

      My philosophy is based in teaching foundational skills in which pitchers can build on, developing proper mechanics, and fostering the love of the position. Day to day, I am a teacher and I am grateful for the opportunity to blend my love of teaching and coaching during these clinics.

      MCKINLEE KAULBACH - Catching

       

      Mckinlee is successful in both softball and baseball. She was names on the Second Team NWAC Allstar as both a Utility player and a Catcher. She has played on Team Alberta since 2012, and was part of the Junior AA Little League Champion team in 2014. She was the first girl to complete in the Alberta Zones tournament and win gold in 2015. She was named the Best Third Baseman in the country and won the Senior Prairies Championship in 2016. She was the Top 30 for Team Canada in 2017 and won bronze in the Women's Baseball World Cup in 2018. She is still an active player and brings all this experience and more to her coaching.

    • Hitting Clinics (Mondays)

      • To maximize instruction time:
        • Players/parents: Please help set up and take down the equipment by arriving/staying a few minutes extra
        • Players, review your notes before arriving so it's fresh in your mind to talk about with Natasha
        • Be ready to start practice right away! (Shoes on, hair tied back, equipment ready, etc.)

      SESSIONS:

      Session instruction will be structured around the levels below.  However, if you need to join a different session, please do and just let the instructor know.

      7:00-8:00 - Beginner
      8:00-9:00 - Advanced

      Location: Ecole Glenbrook Middle School (701 Park Crescent, New Westminster)
    • Pitching Clinics (Thursdays) 

    • PITCHING NOTES:

      • Pitchers must bring their own catcher. 
      • Minor catchers must wear a catchers helmet with neck protector.
      • Be ready to start practice right away! (Shoes on, hair tied back, equipment ready, etc.)

      SESSIONS:

      Beginner and Advanced sessions are combined into one session.

      Session instruction will be structured around the levels below.  However, if you need to join a different session, please do and just let the instructor know.

      7:00-8:00 - Beginner
      8:00-9:00 - Advanced

    • CATCHING WITH MCKINLEE KAULBACH

      Location: Ecole Glenbrook Middle School (701 Park Crescent, New Westminster)
    • Catching Clinics (Thursdays) 

    • CATCHING NOTES:

      • MANDATORY - Must wear sweatpants over gear to protect the gym floor
      • Be ready to start practice right away! (Shoes on, hair tied back, equipment ready, etc.)

    • NO SESSION ON THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 23

    • PITCHING WITH INDY MIDDAR

      Location: Herbert Spencer Elementary (605 2nd Street, New Westminster)
    • Pitching Clinics (Thursdays) 

    • PITCHING NOTES:

      • Pitchers must bring their own catcher. 
      • Minor catchers must wear a helmet.
      • Catchers 12+ must provide proof of vaccination. In addition, adults must show government issued photo ID.

       

      SESSIONS:

      Instruction will be structured around the levels below.  If you can't make that time slot, please join another one and let the instructor know.

      7:00-8:00 - Beginner/Intermediate
      8:00-9:00 - Intermediate/Advanced
