Welcome to our single scholarship application form for all scholarships at NWMUN-Portland 2026.

Scholarships are distinct from discounts, which are non-application-based and are automatically given if you qualify. Discounts are applied automatically to the invoice we send after you formally register.

Individual Scholarships
NWMUN-Portland Individual Scholarships were created in memory of Athen Nguyen, who was a friend, mentor, team leader, and delegate at multiple NWMUN conferences.

Athen was committed to expanding access to Model United Nations, and as President of the University of Washington's MUN program he created scholarships for team members to make it easier for them to participate.

Following Athen's tragic passing in 2017, we expanded our scholarship program to include individual scholarships at NWMUN-Portland, held in his hometown, as a small way of honoring him.
Any individual attending NWMUN-Portland, as part of a team or as an individual delegate, may apply for this scholarship. Up to five awards are given per year. Award recipients will receive $100 towards their costs of attendance.

(This award will be disbursed as follows: First, the delegate fee will be paid. The remaining portion of the award will be given as a check to the recipient for use on travel or other costs.)

Team Scholarships
Delegations of 8 or more delegates may apply for this scholarship. Two awards are given per year, and delegations may not apply if they won this award the previous time they attended NWMUN-Portland. Award recipients will have receive $300 towards their costs of attendance.

(This award will be applied as a discount to the delegate fees invoice.)
