2025 NYA Alumni Bursary Application

NYA is opening the 2025 Alumni Bursary for Alumni of a Northern Youth Abroad Core Program (Canadian, Next, or International Program) who are currently enrolled in a full time post-secondary program at college, university, or upgrading. There are a limited number of bursaries available, applications received by October 9 will be given equal consideration. Beyond that date, applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first served basis.

Successful applicants will be eligible to receive $1000 given through four $250 payments made in each of October 2025, November 2025, January 2026, and March 2026 if they remain enrolled and complete a check in with an NYA staff member.

Check-ins are to ensure that our investment in student success includes wrap-around supports. We want to know how your school year is going and how else we can support you.

How have you contributed to your community since participating in NYA?
Your hopes for your home community and territory in the future, and how you see yourself contributing to this.

If you have received an NYA Alumni Bursary for a different program:

Upload your current proof of enrollment, or email it to nya@nya.ca. To be valid it must:

- be dated for 2024 - ie. "as of Sept 2025, Student is a Fulltime student in Program Name". A letter of acceptance or an outdated funding form will not cover this requirement.

- be official from your school (have a school letterhead, logo, or signature)

- have your full name on it

- show your courses, or your current student status (part-time or full-time).
