With support from FHI 360's National Institute for Work and Learning, the National Youth Employment Coalition is looking to launch a Youth Development Practitioner Apprenticeship (YDPA) cohort in July 2026!
We are looking for organizations that are interested in recruiting, training, and upskilling new OR existing employees in direct service roles.
The Youth Development Practitioner Apprenticeship equips apprentices with essential job readiness skills and empowers them to become effective practitioners in counseling and youth-serving fields.
Division of responsibilities:
NYEC & FHI 360:
- Provide materials and Related Technical Instruction training for the apprentices; provide ongoing program support.
- Coordinate with the DOL for apprentice certification and credentialing.
- Monitor apprentice progress and competencies.
- Foster an equitable ecosystem to support apprenticeships in the care economy.
- Collect evidence and case studies to shape the future and highlight impact.
YOU!:
- Recruit candidates for apprenticeship.
- Employ and pay apprentices; guarantee a pay bump for apprentices before completion of apprenticeship.
- Supervise and evaluate apprentice progress.
- Assign a mentor to challenge, motivate, and inspire the apprentices.
- Align the on-the-job tasks with related training instruction competencies.
Participating organizations are eligible for a one-time $2300 stipend from FHI 360's NIWL.
