Mentoring is a proven and practical way to encourage women's participation and advancement in the workforce. Creating supportive role-mode-based relationships allows a more experienced individual to guide, encourage, and support the mentee as she strives to achieve identified aspirations and goals.
NZSIA recognise that we need more women certified at higher levels, including Level Three, Trainer’s Certification and on the Ski/Snowboard committees.
This is a ‘by application’ process, allowing us to have a pool of mentors to match accordingly. Mentees are assessed and carefully matched with mentors to maximise learning and development. The programme is limited to 10 women (“mentees”) for the duration of a year from approximately July 2024 to 2025.
A mentor's commitment is approximately three one-on-one sessions, to be determined by the partnership setting (online, phone, or in person), depending on the need and geographic location.
Approximately a total of 8 hours of contribution in which you will be reimbursed for your time (roughly $220). The NZSIA Women’s Taskforce will regularly communicate about the programme to guide mentors and mentees and ensure progress. Confidentiality is of utmost importance throughout this process.
