Hinton Nordic Skiers Photo Project

We are looking to create an accurate and colourful portrayal of the local history of Hinton Nordic Skiers (HNS). To do this we are putting out a call for photos to showcase the past 50 years of our club. Good photos are essential to make this project as colourful and exciting as our history is. 

These photos may be used in historical signage, a museum exhibit, commemorative materials, online showcase, or other projects related to the HNS 50th anniversary. 

Please check your files from 1975-2025 and find photos that show off the following themes:

• Volunteering and helping
• Major races and events
• Camp 29, Cache Percotte, Gregg Cabin, Hinton Nordic Centre trails and landscapes
• Huts, Lodges, Facilities
• Jackrabbits and youth programs
• Great days (and nights!) of skiing!

Name each photograph in the following format:

Date_photographer ie.  1980_MackenzieHeller

 (If you do not know the year a 5 year ballpark is ok. ie. 1985-1990_MackenzieHeller)

Please note that photos of photos or rough scans are ok, we'll be in touch if we need a high quality scan.

 

Please answer the following questions for each photo you submit:

1. When and where was the photo taken?

2. Who is in the photo? Who took the photo?

3. Why do you think it's a great piece of HNS History? (optional)

I grant and authorize Hinton Nordic Skiers and the Northern Rockies Museum the right to reproduce, edit, exhibit, publish, distribute, and make use of any and all pictures and quotes submitted to be displayed on exhibit with credit given, without payment or any other consideration. This authorization extends to all languages, media, formats and markets now known or hereafter devised. This authorization shall continue indefinately.
