2026 Fall Performance Camp / 2027 Winter Competition Training

     FALL

    September 14 – November 19, 2026

    WINTER

    November 30- February 18, 2027

The North Shore Track Club Fall Performance Camp is our annual preseason development program designed to help athletes build a strong athletic foundation before entering the competitive season. Whether your athlete participates in track and field or another sport, this program focuses on the fundamental skills that carry over to athletic success year-round.

Throughout this 10-week program, athletes will improve sprint mechanics, running efficiency, speed, power, coordination, and general conditioning through age-appropriate instruction. Resistance band training and functional strength exercises are incorporated to develop the muscle groups that are often overlooked during the season but are essential for performance and injury prevention.

Fall is our favorite time of the year to teach proper running mechanics. Without the pressure of weekly competitions, athletes have the opportunity to slow down, develop sound technique, and build movement patterns that translate into faster, more efficient running.

Her coaching emphasizes proper sprint mechanics, technical development, speed, power, and long-term athlete development.

    WINTER COMPETITION TRAINING

    November 30 - February 18, 2027

Winter training is a 9- week program, designed to prepare athletes for the upcoming indoor and outdoor track seasons while continuing to develop the skills, strength and conditioning needed to perform at a higher level.

This program is ideal for athletes who plan to compete during the winter, as well as athletes who may not compete but want to continue training and use the winter months to prepare for spring competition.

    WHAT WE’LL WORK ON

Training will become more event-specific during the winter, with an emphasis on:

    Sprinting and acceleration

    Running mechanics and technique

    Event-specific training

    Speed and power development

    Strength and conditioning

    Endurance development

    Competition preparation

Athletes will continue building upon the foundation established during our fall training while beginning to transition into more specific track & field preparation.

    WHY WINTER TRAINING?

Winter is an important training period. Athletes who remain consistent during the winter can use this time to develop physically and technically before the spring competition season begins.

For athletes competing during the winter, training provides preparation leading into competition.

For athletes who aren’t competing during the winter, this is an opportunity to stay active, continue developing and enter the spring season prepared rather than starting from scratch.

    COMPETITION

Athletes who choose to compete will have opportunities to participate in winter meets throughout the season.

Many of our competitions are held in Mandeville and Covington, with additional opportunities at the Indoor Sportsplex in Birmingham, Alabama and LSU.

The complete competition schedule will be announced once meet dates and details are finalized.

    WHO IS THIS FOR?

    Athletes who want to:

    Prepare for winter competition

    Continue training through the winter

Develop specific track & field skills

    Maintain their conditioning

    Prepare for the spring season

Continue building speed, strength and athletic ability

Competition is encouraged but not required to participate in winter training.
